The most impressive places in the UK for a 60th birthday - our top five
In our experience 60th birthday parties are all about having fun, celebrating the parts of life you love and letting your hair down. They are also always really, really fun! We find, we always include live music, a band and entertainment acts, there’s always a photographer and maybe video, to capture all the little moments to treasure beyond the day. The location and format, very much depends on you as an individual and also how many guests you have. Is the party element the most important, or spending time with a smaller group? Our ideas here look at a few options.
THE WOW LONDON ICONIC OPTION
The Natural History Museum is right up there when you think about iconic buildings in London. Every time we visit, we are blown away by the detail within the architecture and the grandeur of the space. Of all the museums in London, this is one with the highest limit for sound meaning it works well for big bands, singers and DJs.
THE COUNTRYSIDE RETREAT
We have some incredible options within this category but the one we’re including here is Estelle Manor. Fairly new to the market, this Oxfordshire retreat is so exciting for events. With a range of rooms and properties across the site, your whole group can be accommodated. Add in the smaller restaurants around the space including the stunning Glasshouse, it means that you can have an incredible few days of dining and celebrating. The site is huge with so much to do and the spa the perfect place to blast away any hangover with its six step rejuvenating treatment – trust us, it works.
THE DESTINATION OPTION
Flying your guests to a site that they’re not expecting is really fun. Everyone knows of Gleneagles but surprisingly so many have never made the trip to this world famous estate. With 850 acres to explore outside including golf courses, you’ll have plenty to do. Whilst inside there’s Michelin dining, a fantastic spa and gorgeous spaces for partying. This is a true retreat style venue – bring your guests here to get away from it all and experience the best of the estate.
THE HIDDEN GEM
One of our most asked about venues – this feels like such a hidden gem still. Perched five floors above the bustling Kensington High Street, Kensington Roof Gardens is an oasis. Taking the Winter Garden for dinner on one long table feels super special and the perfect spot for any time of year. The bars are also great for post dinner cocktails, to continue the celebrations late into the night.
THE NEW SPOT, NESTLED WITHIN THE TIMELESS
Everyone is familiar with the gorgeous art deco ballroom at Claridge’s and of course this is a stunning space but it’s actually the restaurant we’re discussing here. Beautifully decorated, this space is stunning and perfect for a party for a food lover. Take over the whole space, complete with built in booths, perfect for housing small groups of guests. Then after dinner either turn the mezzanine into your dance area or move through to the Oak Room and French Salon which we can transform into a personalised nightclub and cocktail bar. After all this, make the short trip upstairs to one of the newly refurbished rooms and enjoy the incredible room service in bed the next morning. Heaven!
