A DOLCE VITA TABLESCAPE IN THE HAMPTONS
This summer, we had the joy of creating a very special tablescape for a client’s 40th birthday celebration in the Hamptons. The dinner was an intimate gathering outdoors, and we wanted the setting to capture the client’s love of Italy — warm, romantic, and full of life.
The inspiration was la dolce vita: the simple pleasures of dining al fresco, the beauty of abundant seasonal flowers, and the joy of sharing long summer evenings with friends. We layered the table with a fresh palette of soft pastels and sun-kissed tones — blush pinks, peach, buttery yellows and touches of lilac — reminiscent of gardens in full Italian bloom.
AN ITALIAN SUMMER COLOUR PALETTE
Centrepieces overflowed with roses, hydrangea, daisies and wildflower textures, creating a sense of effortless abundance down the length of the table. Amber glassware and golden cutlery added richness and depth, while delicate patterned linens gave a playful nod to Italian summers. Powder-blue napkins and striped menus brought a refined yet joyful contrast, tying the setting together with charm.
As the evening unfolded, the tablescape glowed with warmth — a setting designed not only to look beautiful but to invite conversation, laughter and celebration. Just as in Italy, the table became the heart of the evening, perfectly framing a milestone birthday filled with love, family and friends.
