Creating your perfect Autumn celebrations

Our five favourite cosy venues
Maison Estelle – we’re so taken with this venue and it’s wide range of spaces. From cool clubs to intimate private dining rooms and even a roof terrace, all in the heart of Mayfair. The interiors feel cosy and inviting, perfect for A/W gatherings.
TWO TEMPLE PLACE – if you’re looking to private hire a venue, this is the perfect space for the season. The rich wood panelled walls and grand rooms make for an incredible space for a party or wedding.
Berners Tavern – This restaurant is a classic and not just because of the food (Jason Atherton is the Chef Patron) – the interiors, the dark walls lined with gold gilt framed artwork and leather booths just scream ‘long lunch with red wine’.
HAMPTON COURT PALACE – Looking for a winter wedding venue – look no further. Dining in Henry VIII’s Great Hall doesn’t get grander. The walls are lined with priceless tapestries.
Little House Mayfair – if you’re a Soho House member, this spot is such a hidden gem. So much so, we almost didn’t want to include it. Perfect for daytime working and evening drinks. Warm wood tones and a sun trap for the brighter days.

Our top three tablescape tips
Add light to your table in the darker months. We are HUGE fans of the Pooky lamp range. These rechargeable lamps are perfect for creating warmth on your table and they come in an amazing array of different shapes, sizes and patterns. One of our favourites because of the warm tones is the THIMBLE MARBLE LAMP with the claret William Morris scalloped shade.
Consider your little touches. We adore a quirky name cardholder and also a gorgeous napkin ring. We tend to scour Etsy, our local stores and vintage sites. We once used gold bumblebee napkin rings in a winter tablescape which will be a forever favourite. They can be seen HERE
Consider textures and a pop of colour. These can be added so easily with the NAPKINS, perhaps a bow on each setting or a table runner. Velvets, ruffles and print all work so well to add warmth to your table.

Don’t get caught out by the season
We are based in London and so let’s just say, we’re very used to an ever-changing weather forecast. Some of our best tips for the A/W months when it comes to events;
Think about your moments of movements. This may just be at the beginning or end of the night or perhaps guests are moving between venues during the celebrations. We adore the branded/personalised umbrellas that Gigi and Olive offer.
Consider the warmth of your venue. Some will allow you to add heaters if there’s no pre-existing heat (such as in a marquee) so keep an eye on the weather forecast. We love a shawl on hand for colder venues and you could even personalise these which is such a lovely touch.
Don’t forget the power of draping. We adore how much of a difference this can make to the temperature – especially a heavy fabric such as velvet. It adds a warmth in texture and colour as well as physically.
