WEDDINGS AND PRIVATE PARTIES AT THE NATIONAL GALLERY

Weddings at the National Gallery London

Few event venues offer quite the ‘wow’ factor of an internationally acclaimed art gallery, and The National Gallery is one venue we just know creates an absolutely unforgettable event every time.

Steeped in centuries of history and art, the gallery provides several extravagant rooms for events. We can’t wait to have the opportunity to transform these into something truly unique for our clients, as preferred planners of The National Gallery.

Recently, we had the pleasure of visiting a wedding showcase at the National Gallery and were absolutely blown away by its wonderful features. It has so much to offer for weddings and private parties, and we have so many ideas for how to make this stunning location feel extra special. Here we list just a few of the highlights, and why it’s one of our favourite event venues in the capital.

THE GALLERY

Originally housed in the fashionable Pall Mall in the early 19th century, the National Gallery moved to its current custom-built home in 1834, becoming the grandiose and commanding structure that we see in Trafalgar Square today.

A maximum of 300 guests enter via the Portico steps onto the jaw-dropping Portico Terrace, which overlooks Nelson’s Column, Big Ben and Westminster to provide one of the most iconic and impressive views in central London. Inside, you’ll find classic masterpieces adorning each wall, alongside domed glass ceilings, marble pillars and small intricate details that add the perfect backdrop for any event.

WEDDINGS AT THE NATIONAL GALLERY

We’re delighted to have been chosen as preferred planners for weddings at The National Gallery, and look forward to making your day there as perfect as can be.

Walking through the halls of the gallery is a truly magical experience, and some of our favourite features include the palatial setting of Room 32 and Annenberg Court’s sweeping staircase, which is perfect for a grand entrance before dancing the night away.

For you, perhaps it’s the romantic details of the Mosaic Terrace that appeal, where themes of love, compassion, and glamour intertwine to reflect your very own love story. Or intimate dining in The Barry Rooms, where you’ll take your seats beneath the breathtaking domed ceiling, surrounded by portraits from Hogarth and Gainsborough. The National Gallery offers an exquisite backdrop for us to create a wedding reception that’s unique and personal to you.

Located in the heart of London, the gallery is also easily accessible via both public and private transport, and there are plenty of nearby hotels and accommodation options for out-of-town guests.

PRIVATE PARTIES AT THE NATIONAL GALLERY

The gallery’s combination of art, history, and modern luxury also mark it as a standout setting for a private party. As one of the most visited galleries in the world, The National Gallery is open to the public until 6pm, after which it’s time to transform it for your event where a private gallery tour awaits just for you and your guests.

The National Gallery offers a range of event spaces to suit different party sizes and themes. As well as the aforementioned spaces, private events may also be held in The Julia and Hans Rausing Room, the gallery’s grandest room, and The Wohl Room – both of which can hold up to 450 guests.
