Our top 5 favourite London roof terraces this Summer
It’s that time of year where we can finally believe that Spring may officially be here. The clocks have changed, the days are noticeably feeling longer and we are getting some gorgeous blue skies. Everything feels hopeful and exciting – it’s the feeling of promise – the Spring and Summer seasons stretching out ahead of us. Relaxed long lunches, evenings enjoying alfresco dining and the feeling of being in carefree holiday mode. We always find we get so many enquiries at this time of year for summer events, drinks in the sunshine and for the best spots to celebrate with colleagues, so we thought we’d round up a few of our favourites here.
A VERY CENTRAL HIDDEN GEM
This roof terrace is very new to the scene and wow did it blowus away. An incredible space sat atop of Raffles at the OWO and part of Kioku. With views over to Trafalgar Square and Big Ben it well and truly ticks the bill for a central rooftop space. Whether it’s drinks on the terrace or hiring the private dining room in the turret, this is one of our newest favourite options.

A SUNNY SPOT IN A REIMAGINED VENUE
This venue has just undergone a huge refurb and is looking incredible. With gorgeous traditional features, yet a modern touch, the roof terrace and pavilion can host up to 250 guests for a summer reception. Totally secluded whilst being in a prime city location, along with brilliant catering by Blue Strawberry, it’s a brilliant summer party spot. Also, we love the address - no 8 1/2 - a fun touch for your invites!
POOLSIDE DRINKS
Drinks by the pool will always be a good idea. The rooftop at Old Sessions House is honestly one of the best finds – it has the feeling of being on a roof in a European city – the buzz of the world below and the natural stone, rippling water and flowing Aperols around you. It’s perfect for up to 60 guests.
THE BEST VIEWS IN LONDON
A rooftop bar with quite possibly the best views in London that you can enjoy whilst sipping on a glass of cold rosé. This space, sat atop the gorgeous Emory hotel, looks out over the trees of Hyde Park, across the city, over Westminster and the London Eye. The décor is stunning – brown leather and walnut chairs, floor to ceiling windows and a retractable roof. If you want the wow factor – this well and truly has it.
ROOFTOP VIBES ON A TERRACE
This isn’t technically a rooftop, however the views are elevated so we think we can squeeze it in. The Terrace at Somerset House, sits high up overlooking Embankment and the River Thames. With a structure in place for two months of the year, it ticks the wet weather box whilst having incredible central views. An iconic venue and a relatively unknown spot for summer.
SUMMER ON THE WATER
We’re cheating again as this is definitely not a roof terrace so this is a bonus option as it’s such a good summer spot. We’re hosting events here at Wood Quay on the Embankment, this Summer and can’t wait to soak up the atmosphere – being right by the river, on a floating pontoon which has the feelings of being on a luxury yacht, is the ultimate summer party spot.
