A unique space to hire in London

We have forever loved Somerset House as an iconic venue in London for events. As you walk into the courtyard it is impossible not to take a moment to stop and admire the stunning Grade I listed building. The symmetry, the detail, the gorgeous pale colour palette – we stop every time and take a photograph, even though we’ve visited more times than we can remember.

We adore the courtyard with it's dancing fountains and feel so excited that the option to hire this space next summer with receptions for up to 2500 and dinners for up to 500 is a possibility.

A secret, yet iconic venue space

There are so many spaces to hire within Somerset House from the traditional to the modern to rustic and even a spooky secret space underground (ask us more and we’ll share!). But we have to be honest and say that the crowning jewel of this venue has to be the Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court. Such a huge space hugged by the beautiful buildings, it feels jaw droppingly grand and yet totally secret and hidden all at the same time.

A venue perfect for a party

Safe to say, we’re a little bit excited about the fact that Summer 2026 sees a marquee being built within this space. Whilst the courtyard can be hired throughout the year on a case by case basis, in and around the art installations that pop up there, the fact that for next Summer there will be a structure in place and ready to use is fantastic. Having this space built for the season, a clear structure that truly celebrates its surroundings, is really exciting.

The design, build and catering will be provided by Moving Venue, an excellent caterer who we know well. We can’t wait to host events within this space. Not that we want to wish away time but bring on next Summer!
