Experience the magic of Babington House for a private celebration
Babington House, a Soho House property, is set within 18 acres of land, within the Somerset countryside. This rural retreat, near to Bath is available for private hire for weddings, private celebrations and brand retreats. The property has all the charm of the local area and is a Grade II building, but excitingly has no curfew so your guests can stay up as late as they’d like!
THE ESTATE ITSELF
The estate features 33 bedrooms, a gorgeous restaurant (The Orangery), indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, tennis and padel courts, a lake and it’s very own church. The only real issue is that you don't ever want to leave once you’ve arrived!
For religious wedding ceremonies the Church of St Margaret based on site (see below) can hold up to 90 guests for a ceremony. The small church dates back to 1748 and is such a unique offering within the grounds. For non-religious ceremonies there are great indoor and outdoor options including the beautiful croquet lawn.
BEAUTIFUL DINING OPTIONS
The Orangery is the perfect place for dinner with it’s floor to ceiling windows and menus produced by the in-house team with produce from the Walled Garden. There's even the option for forest feasting within the grounds in the outdoor dining space hidden beyond the lake. After dinner the House Bar is perfect for drinks and dancing, until the early hours.

The estate is truly beautiful and has a charm that is hard to explain without you experiencing it yourself. The rural location really makes it feel as if you’ve escaped the world for a pocket of time, stepping into the gorgeous, inviting luxury. We’d recommend the afternoon tea, the cocktails and the spa treatments very highly too!
We work so frequently in London but there's a true magic to stepping outside of the city and exploring the English countryside. The estate feels so private, so quiet and really special. Creating a private event here, where you guests step into the most wonderful bubble away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, is an incredible experience.

What makes Babington House such a great space to hire?
The grand feel of the site mixed with the quiet luxury makes it perfect for private events, weddings and retreats. You really can create such an incredible celebration within the venue. It's very exclusive and feels like a true escape from the world.
Can I hold both the ceremony and reception at Babington House?
Yes absolutely. Religious ceremonies are perfect in the on-site church and non religious ceremonies are great in spaces like the Croquet lawn. The reception can then be hosted within the house with pre-drinks outside if the weather is fair.
Do you have to hire Babington House exclusively for a wedding or retreat?
Yes, you'll need to take the space exclusively. Whilst there are smaller spaces such as the private dining room, for the true experience, a private hire of the estate is required.
How do I book Babington House for a private event?

Can I book Babington House for a private event if I'm not a Soho House member?
Yes you can. Weddings can only take place on Thursdays. Brand and businesses need to be aligned for the estate to accommodate the booking.
